The Razer phone made its first appearance of the GFX benchmarks and is expected to be launched on the 1st of November. The leaked photo is supplied by an insider who apparently works in the gaming industry. As it happens with most of the other leaked images, there is no certain way of judging the authenticity of it. As far as specifications are concerned, the Razer phone seems to come beefed up with all the hardware goodness a gaming phone would demand. The device is expected to feature a 5.7-inch QHD display and will be powered by a Snapdragon 835 coupled with 8GB of RAM. On the storage front, the device is expected to offer 64GB of internal storage. Camera options will include a 12-Megapixel primary camera and an 8-Megapixel secondary camera. The device will be running Android Nougat and it is quite likely that Razer may come up with an Android overlay of their own. Razer had earlier acquired Nextbit, known for the cloud-centric Robin smartphone. Razer has seemingly put their Nextbit acquisition to work and is readying a new gaming smartphone. The leaked images with the angular edges and the boxy design also remind us of the Nextbit Robin. That being said, the smartphone industry is still devoid of a gaming-centric smartphone. Smartphones like N-Gage had earlier set a benchmark for gaming-centric smartphones, but sadly, I haven’t seen a phone that can steal the latter’s crown. In the meanwhile, one also needs to address the lack of console-quality games for the Android ecosystem. It would be interesting to see how the gaming smartphone will be received by the gaming fraternity and whether or not it will pass the acid test.
